Overview:

The Italy national cricket team, known as Gli Azzurri, is an Associate Member of the International Cricket Council (ICC).

The ICC T20 World Cup 2026 is set to start from February 7 onwards. India and Sri Lanka are the co-hosts of the tournament. Group C of the tournament features the likes of West Indies, England, Scotland, Italy and Nepal.

February 7 sees the 1st match of Group C. West Indies will take on Scotland at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

However, they got the ticket after Bangladesh boycotted the event after falling out with the ICC. Bangladesh asked the ICC to relocate their games to Sri Lanka from India, to which the governing council disagreed.

Italy are set to make history at the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, marking their debut appearance at the tournament. Their qualification came after a strong campaign at the 2025 Europe Regional Final, where they finished as runners-up. This milestone will also represent Italy’s first-ever appearance at a major ICC global event, a significant step forward for cricket in the country.
