Royal Challengers Bengaluru women defeated Gujarat Giants women by 6 wickets in the opening match of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025. Batting first, GG posted 201/5 but the RCB batters were brilliant in the chase and scripted a good win for the defending champions. Australia all-rounder Ellyse Perry scored 57 runs off 34 balls, laced with 6 fours and 2 sixes.

Richa Ghosh also scored a fifty while Kanika Ahuja and Raghvi Bist played good knocks.

Earlier, GG captain Ashleigh Gardner amassed 79 runs off 37 deliveries, packed with 8 sixes and 3 fours. Beth Mooney managed 56 runs off 42 balls, including 8 boundaries. Renuka Singh took two wickets and conceded just 25 runs from 4 overs.
