Kapil Dev said it's wrong for a young cricketer to drive a car alone and suggested Pant hire a driver.

Kapil Dev said he is thankful that Rishabh Pant is safe after the 25-year-old batter suffered a fat car accident on the Delhi-Dehradun highway on December 30.

The 1983 World Cup-winning captain also suggested a young cricketer, giving an example from his life-threatening accident.

Meanwhile, Rishabh Pant is stable and was shifted to a private room from the ICU. He suffered cuts on his forehead, a ligament tear on his right knee, and injuries on his right wrist, ankle, and toe.

Kapil Dev said it’s wrong for a young cricketer to drive a car alone and suggested Pant hire a driver.

“You have a good-looking car with great speeds, but you should be careful while driving. You can easily afford a driver; you don’t have to drive the car. I know one has a passion for driving, and it is natural to have it at this age, but you also have responsibilities. Only you can take care of yourself,” Kapil Dev told ABP News.

Kapil recalled an incident when he met with an accident while driving a bike. “I was driving a motorcycle when I met with an accident. My brother didn’t allow me to drive the bike from that day,” he added.

Pant is likely to miss the Border-Gavaskar trophy with Australia and the Indian Premier League 2023.
