Ramiz Raja sacking
Ramiz Raja pointed to Pakistan's struggles against quality spin bowling in recent times

Pakistan Cricket Chairman Ramiz Raja has blamed the BCCI for provoking Pakistan following Jay Shah’s statement on the 2023 Asia Cup.

He has threatened to boycott the 2023 World Cup and Asia Cup if Pakistan’s hosting rights of the Continental Cup are taken away.

And now Ramiz has turned the tables on BCCI with a stunning reply on the ICC query.

Speaking to BBC’s Test Match Special on the matter, Ramiz pointed out that it was BCCI who created the mess.

“What happens if the government of Pakistan doesn’t allow Pakistan to travel to India because of security issues?” Ramiz responded on the matter. “We were forced to take a hard stand. Cricket needs India vs Pakistan,” he added.

Ramiz wants India to keep the political issues aside and travel to Pakistan for the Asia Cup.

“Iran and US have many issues, but they still played in the FIFA World Cup 2022. When the FIFA president was asked about the possible reason behind the two countries playing against each other despite problems, he picked up the football and said this could solve many issues. Through sports, we can take care of these concerns. Let bat and ball talk.”
