Indian skipper Rohit Sharma is most likely to return for the 2nd Test match against Bangladesh starting on December 22.
Contrary to the earlier reports that the Indian skipper will not return to Bangladesh for the Test series due to the thumb injury he sustained in the 2nd ODI, Rohit has informed the team management that he is available for the 2nd Test match.
Several leading news portals confirmed the news and said that the Indian skipper, who is currently at the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA), will soon travel to Bangladesh to join the squad.
Abhimanyu Easwaran replaced the hitman for the 1st Test. Earlier today, pictures surfaced online, showing Rohit Sharma meeting Zimbabwe under -19 players at the MCA.

During the 2nd ODI, Rohit injured his left thumb while attempting a catch at slip. He was immediately rushed to the hospital, where he received stitches on the thump and returned to score a valuable 51(28) but fell short of 5 runs to level the series.
Rohit last played a Test match in March 2022 against Sri Lanka and missed the one-off Test against England in July as he was infected by the COVID-19 virus back then.
