Nathan Lyon has said no to Shane Warne’s style retirement after the Ashes 2025-26 Ashes series at home. The legendary spinner also spoke about how the England players are preparing for the Ashes.
Warne announced retirement after the 2006-07 Ashes, along with Glenn McGrath, Justin Langer, and Damien Martyn, as Australia won the URN. Shane took 708 wickets in 145 Tests at an average of 25.41.
Lyon is 36, but he is not considering retiring. “It is too early,” he told The Sydney Morning Herald.
Nathan spoke to English spinner Tom Hartley during the County Championship.
“I enjoyed my time with Lancashire and listening to guys talk about the Ashes and how they are planning. I had good talks with Tom Hartley about his ways of tackling different batters. I found it interesting. If the plans we spoke about come true, I think it will be interesting,” he added.
England have lost consecutive Ashes series in Australia.
