Waqar Younis and Misbah-ul-Haq
Ramiz Raja talked about sacking Pakistani duo before the 2021 T20 World Cup

Former PCB chairman Ramiz Raja has been making controversial remarks since his exit from the board. The 60-year-old has been highly active on his YouTube channel and increased his media presence.

Recently Raja talked about Najam Sethi’s appointment as the new chairman, where he bashed Sethi and said that he has not held a bat in his entire life and will not do anything good for Pakistan cricket.

Raja also opened up his views on the board’s wrongdoing and made bold remarks on Waqar Younis and Wasim Akram.

Raja touched upon the match-fixing incident involving the duo and stated that he would have banned the duo for life had he been in power,

In his latest media appearance, Raja got reminded of the unceremonious exit given to Pakistan’s former head coach, Misbah-ul-Haq and bowling coach Waqar Younis before the 2021 T20 World Cup.

Notably, Misbah and Waqar were sacked from their roles right before the 2021 T20 World Cup. Raja defended the decision and said it was his right to sack them.

“People say that sacking Misbah and Waqar was wrong, but it was the right decision. They received full payment for two years and were given full respect. It was my right to dismiss them.”

When I used to do commentary, I realised that the change was necessary.”
