Hardik Pandya IND vs NZ
He pointed out that Hardik is the most important player in the set-up.

Irfan Pathan has lauded Hardik Pandya for his performance in the third ODI against New Zealand. He pointed out that Hardik is the most important player in the set-up.

The new vice-captain scored 54 runs off 38 balls as the Men in Blue set a 386-run target for the Black Caps. He then took the wicket of Finn Allen for a duck as the hosts bowled out the Kiwis for 295 to register an emphatic 90-run win.

“He is the most important player, and the team needs a player who can bat and bowl to get the balance right. It is very difficult to find a player like him. There are very few players like him in world cricket,” Irfan Pathan said on Star Sports.

The former Baroda player was pleased with some of the shots played by Pandya.

“He first showed his talent in batting. The shots he played were exceptional, and he showed his class in the bowling department as well,” he added.

Pathan pointed out that Hardik didn’t struggle to force the pace against the old ball.

“He is unstoppable when he is in form. He played good shots against the old ball while the other batters struggled to time the ball properly.”
