Namibia defeated Tanzania by 58 runs in their fifth match to qualify for the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. Namibia won five games on the trot in the qualifying tournament to seal a place in the mega event, set to be played in the West Indies and the United States of America.
They are at the top of the points table and will finish among the top two teams that will play in the World Cup.
Uganda, Kenya, Zimbabwe, and Nigeria are contesting for the remaining spot.
Namibia posted 157/6 in 20 overs, with JJ Smit (40), Michael van Lingen (30), Nikolaas Davin (25) and Gerhard Erasmus (21) making useful contributions. Erasmus also took two wickets for the victorious side.
Earlier, Namibia thumped Zimbabwe by 7 wickets in the opening game. They got better of Uganda by 6 wickets in the next encounter.
In the third game of the campaign, Rwanda fell short by 68 runs in front of them.
Namibia registered a 6-wicket win over Kenya in the fourth game.
