The Eden Gardens pitch has come in for sharp criticism after the first test ended within three days.

Indian Premier League 2025 has given opportunities to several young players to showcase their talent. Priyansh Arya and Digvesh Rathi, who did exceptionally well in the first edition of the Delhi Premier League, are leading the race in terms of performances by new additions to the tournament.

Digvesh, who is playing for Lucknow Super Giants, has been one of the finds and is improving after every game. Although his notebook celebrations have led to fines and demerit points by the BCCI, there is no denying the fact that his future looks promising.

The 25-year-old hails from Delhi and hasn’t played first-class cricket yet. He was bought by LSG at the base price of INR 30 lakh. In the recent match against Delhi Capitals, he conceded just 24 runs from his four overs. Digvesh has taken 9 wickets from 9 matches at an average of 29.11 and an economy of 7.27.

Former India captain Anil Kumble lauded the young bowler for his bowling in the 18th season.

“He has a great control and the batters are unable to pick him. Digvesh doesn’t conceded boundaries despite the fact that he hasn’t played first class cricket and is not experienced enough,” Anil Kumble said on the broadcasting channel.

Suresh Raina highlighted his super bowling in the Delhi Premier League. “He bowled well in the DPL and is one of the bowlers who has impressed a lot this season,” Suresh Raina said.
