Dinesh Karthik has said that Taskin Ahmed getting ruled out of the first ODI is good news for captain Rohit Sharma and his opening partner Shikhar Dhawan. The ODI series will start on Sunday, December 4.
During a discussion on Cricbuzz, Karthik said that Taskin has become the most impactful bowler for Bangladesh and has picked up early wickets in most of the games.
“He has been an excellent bowler for Bangladesh and was sensational during the ICC T20 World Cup in Australia. He bowls tough overs and gets early wickets. His absence is good news for the Indian openers, Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan.”
Taskin has been ruled out of the opening game due to a back injury. He took eight wickets, the highest for his team in the global tournament Down Under.
Tamim Iqbal, Bangladesh’s ODI captain, has been ruled out of the entire series due to a groin injury. Karthik mentioned that the hosts would miss the veteran batter.
