Liam Livingstone ruled out of the Test series with a knee injury

England’s star power-hitter Liam Livingstone’s Test debut ended in sorrow as the 29-year-old got ruled out of the remaining Test matches due to a knee injury.

Livingstone picked up the injury in his right knee on Day 2 while fielding on the boundary. Liam was out of the field the whole day but came to bat in the 2nd innings with discomfort.

In the 2nd innings, Liam batted down the order, and the Three Lions declared the innings when he was batting on 7(8). The right-hand batter did not have a fruitful debut, as he amassed just 9 (10) in the first innings.

He will return to the UK soon for further scans and begin his rehabilitation program. England have yet to announce any replacement so far.

Before the start of the series, Livingstone had also pulled out of the Big Bash League because of increased workload pressure due to his commitments in global leagues. The extent of the injury will reflect better on his likeliness to participate in the upcoming South Africa T20 league.

The first Test between England and Pakistan has reached an exciting stage. The visitors require eight wickets to win on the last day, while the hosts need to chase down 263 more runs.
