India is going to be on top whenever someone checks out the Asia Cup Winners List because, once again, in the 2025 Asia Cup, India defeated Pakistan in the finals by five wickets in their first-ever Asia Cup final encounter.
The Asia Cup was first introduced in 1984 to enhance competition for the Asian team and also to provide smaller Asian countries, such as Oman, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Hong Kong, and the UAE, with opportunities to improve by playing against top teams like India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka.
India leads the winner list with nine Asia Cup titles, followed by Sri Lanka with six and Pakistan with two. It’s quite challenging for Bangladesh to win the title, despite reaching the finals three times. However, India did not participate in the 1986 Asia Cup due to safety concerns.

Asia Cup 2025 Finals: India vs Pakistan
The 2025 Asia Cup tournament has been one of the most talked-about tournaments due to the country conflicts between India and Pakistan, who played against each other three times in the tournament. Each time, it was India who won the match, but the discussion about the topic extended beyond the results.

Indian players refused to shake hands with Pakistani players because the country and many players in the squad mocked India for the Pahalgam attack and Operation Sindor, as many of them were still in delusion of what their army said to the country, which was seen by Harish Rauf and Sahibzada Farhan, who did a Gun celebration, must have their muscle memory clicked in.
India won the match by five wickets while chasing a 147 target. Tilak Varma and Kuldeep Yadav were the main contributors for India, helping them win the game. On the other hand, Pakistan had a fantastic start to the match with both bat and ball, but couldn’t maintain the pressure, which highlights the weakness of their team.
Even after winning the final, the drama was not over as the Indian player refused to take the trophy from Moshin Naqvi, who later took the trophy with him and did not give it to India in the winning ceremony.
