Team India Vice-captain Rohit Sharma welcomed back Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman. The IAF pilot returned to India after spending two day’s in Pakistan’s custody. During the aerial combat with Pakistan Air Force, his jet was hit and he unfortunately landed in Pakistan.

He was ill treated by the mob before Pakistani army saved him. The Indian brave heart, who was taken into custody, kept his cool. After several rounds of negotiation, Imran Khan announced that Abhinandan would be returned to India as a peace gesture.

Since that announcement, the whole of India was eagerly waiting for his return. He was handed to India around 9 pm.

Rohit took to twitter to welcome Abhinandan Varthaman and even wrote a special message for the IAF pilot.

“Welcome to our motherland #WingCommanderAbhinandan Another name for bravery”
