Indian cricket skipper Virat Kohli played a scintillating first innings knock of 149 against England in the first Test at Edgbaston. England went on to beat India by 31 to seal the first Test in dramatic fashion as they skilfully defended 193 runs.

149 vs. England, 2018

This comes right in the memory. What an innings from the 29-year-old. Kohli was on top of his game and made the most out of his dropped catch. With India reeling at 100/5, Kohli battled with lower order and got India to 274. It was also his maiden Test ton on English soil.

153 vs. South Africa, 2018

Another superb away ton outside the subcontinent by the Indian skipper. Against a hostile Proteas bowling, Kohli came out on top and slammed a fabulous ton. India were 2/28 before Kohli came in and took charge at Centurion. He struck 15 fours in a 217-ball innings. He batted with the entire middle and lower order.

116 vs. Australia, 2012

This was Kohli's first ton in Test cricket and that too against Australia at Adelaide. The hosts won the math by 298 runs after twin double tons by Ricky Ponting and Michael Clarke. But a young Kohli started his journey with a big innings here. He hit 11 fours and a six.

105* vs. New Zealand, 2014

India lost this Test by 48 runs but Kohli played a sensuous 141 in the second innings. He had amassed a brilliant 115 in the first innings and almost carried India home. The 185-run stand with Murali Vijay was a standout effort. Kohli smashed 16 fours and a six.
