Shahid Afridi couldn’t defeat India himself, and now he’s out giving lessons to today’s Pakistan team — that’s more or less what Pakistan’s bowler Shadab Khan has implied.
Here’s what happened: a few days ago, the Indian team comfortably defeated Pakistan in a match during the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. As expected, social media was flooded with trolls, and leading the criticism was former cricketer Shahid Afridi. He clearly stated that players like Shaheen Afridi, Babar Azam, and Shadab Khan should be dropped from the team.
Shadab didn’t hold back in his response. He said, “Our former cricketers are entitled to their opinions. They have performed well for Pakistan. But they too never managed to defeat India in a World Cup. It was in 2021 that we beat India. In World Cup history, we have defeated India only once. Yes, he is a legend, but he never did anything special against India in World Cups. Criticism is something we cannot control. Everyone has the right to their own opinion, and they are completely free to express it.”
