Former Pakistan batter Basit Ali hit out at all-rounder Shadab Khan after the latter made a statement on India. The Men in Blue defeated the arch-rivals by 61 runs on February 15. The defeat resulted in massive flak with former players urging the team management to drop Shaheen Shah Afridi and Babar Azam.
However, Shadad took a dig at the former cricketers and highlighted that they were unable to win a match against India in the World Cups.
Pakistan’s only victory over India came in the 2021 T20 World Cup, and Shadab was a part of the team. Basit didn’t like the remark and mentioned that Shadab’s statement was a taunt to his father-in-law, Saqlain Mushtaq.
