Pakistan’s mystery spinner Usman Tariq has been in the spotlight recently due to discussions surrounding his bowling action. There has been intense debate in the cricketing world about his action. Amid this, Usman made a major revelation, saying that he is playing international cricket today because of MS Dhoni.
Usman shared that he used to work as a salesman in Dubai. During that time, he watched the biographical film MS Dhoni: The Untold Story. The movie inspired him to become a cricketer.
Motivated by the film, Usman quit his sales job in Dubai and returned to Pakistan to pursue cricket professionally. His hard work paid off when he delivered an impressive performance in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), where he claimed 20 wickets.
Interestingly, last year while he was busy with his wedding, he received a call from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) regarding his selection to the national team. At first, he thought someone was playing a prank on him, but the news turned out to be true, marking the beginning of his international career.
So far, Usman has played four T20 Internationals for Pakistan, taking 11 wickets with an impressive economy rate of under six runs per over.
From being a salesman in Dubai to representing Pakistan on the international stage, his journey shows how the right inspiration and determination can completely transform a person’s life.
