Overview:
India's highest score in T20Is is 297/6, which they recorded against Bangladesh in 2024.
Parthiv Patel has named India’s playing XI for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 match against Namibia. He said Mohammed Siraj would be dropped to add Jasprit Bumrah to the team if the latter is fit.
India will take on Namibia in their second match of the global tournament in Delhi on February 12. Bumrah had missed the campaign opener against the USA due to illness. During a show on Star Sports, Parthiv was asked to pick his team for the Namibia game and in whose place Bumrah would come in if the seamer is available.
“He will replace Mohammed Siraj in the playing XI. It was good that Siraj was given a game and he did well. If something happens to any Indian fast bowler, Siraj will be ready. But he will be benched,” he said.
The former wicket-keeper is not in favour of playing an extra spinner. “Proper fast bowling options are needed. It was India’s plan to compete on sluggish tracks, but they would get a good wicket at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. I am in favour of two seamers,” he added.
Parthiv feels India have a chance to score 300 runs in Delhi. “It can happen as it is a high scoring venue. We want India to score 300 but winning the game is more important. I am confident India will win the game,” he concluded.
India’s highest score in T20Is is 297/6, which they recorded against Bangladesh in 2024.
