Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha has won the toss and decided to bowl first against the Netherlands in match 1 of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026.

Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha has won the toss and decided to bowl first against the Netherlands in match 1 of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026.

Toss Decision – Captain’s Comments & Reasoning

“We will bowl first as it is a fresh wicket and the rain has been around. We want to see if there is moisture in the wicket. This is the first time I have seen so much grass on the pitch in Sri Lanka. Netherlands are a good side, and they have been playing good cricket. However, it is important to focus on our strengths and if we play good cricket, we can beat any team,” Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha said.

Netherlands skipper Scott Edwards would have bowled first as well.

“The pitch looks good for batting. We would have bowled first as well, but we are happy to bat. It is not a must-win game for us, as you need to win three games. We are used to the conditions in India and Sri Lanka,” he said.
