Netherlands all-rounder Bas de Leede wants to perform like Hardik Pandya in the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. The 26-year-old admires Pandya’s ability to perform under pressure. Netherlands, India, Pakistan, Namibia and the USA are in the same group, and the Dutch side will be playing their matches in India and Sri Lanka. Netherlands defeated South Africa in their previous match in India.
De Leede and his teammates are now trying to surprise big teams and perform consistently. “It is important to know your strengths and getting more consistent in the batting and bowling departments,” de Leede told PTI.
He also spoke about the preparations for the global tournament. “We had a training camp in Chennai and we trained on different type of pitches. We wanted to know what works for us in the batting and bowling,” he added.
De Leeds wants to contribute as an all-rounder. “I want to make an impact in both innings. It is important to stay in control when one of the two departments goes well or doesn’t go as per expectations. We do planning before games and I try to execute the plans,” he mentioned.
He thinks the current squad has players who can give their best regularly. “We have been playing together for sometime and that will help us in giving consistent performances.”
De Leede is inspired by Hardik Pandya. “I like Hardik’s desire to be the man of the moment. He wins games for his team. India have match-winners on their side, so it will be important for us to give our best in 40 overs.
