Sunrisers Eastern Cape won the SA20 title after defeating Pretoria Capitals in the final on January 25. Sunrisers, who are the most successful franchise in the history of the SA20, secured their third title in four years. Chasing a target of 159 in Cape Town, Eastern Cape, were 48/4 in 8.4 overs at one stage. However, Matthew Breetzke (68) and Tristan Stubbs (63) took the team to a win with four balls left.
Sunrisers required nine runs in the 20th over, and Stubbs completed the job by hitting two sixes on Bryce Parsons’ deliveries. Sunrisers co-owner Kavya Maran celebrated the success of her team.

“I can’t explain, and I don’t know how we managed to win the match. I was in the middle with Matty, and we were panicking. We know we bat well together. We were looking for a way to get momentum. We got that in the 16th over, and we capitalise on it. You end up doing funny things under pressure,” Stubbs said after the win.
