Sarfaraz Khan has once again proved himself by scoring a double hundred against Hyderabad in the ongoing Ranji Trophy match against Hyderabad. He had reached his century on Day 1 of the match. The right-handed batter scored 227 runs off 219 deliveries, laced with 19 fours and 9 sixes. Mumbai crossed the 500-run mark, with skipper Siddhesh Lad also amassing a ton.

Earlier, Mumbai openers Akhil Herwadkar and Akash Anand added 61 runs for the first wicket. However, the champion side lost three quick wickets. Siddhesh Lad and Sarfaraz Khan stitched a 249-run stand for the fourth wicket. Rohit Rayudu dismissed Siddhesh after posting 104. Rakshann got rid of Sarfaraz.

Sarfaraz has been in sensational form. Earlier, he scored a 15-ball half-century against Punjab, the fastest by an Indian batter in List A cricket during the Vijay Hazare Trophy. He finished the tournament as Mumbai’s highest run-getter, managing 303 runs in six innings at an average of 75.75 and a strike rate of 190.56.

Sarfaraz last represented India in a Test match against New Zealand in November 2024.
