New Zealand captain Mitchell Santner has won the toss and elected to bowl first in the first T20I against India on January 21.
Toss Decision – Captain’s Comments & Reasoning
“We will bowl first. It is a good wicket, and it is going to be a high-scoring match. The guys last week were pretty special, but it’s a new series. It is going to be five tough matches. There is no better preparation than playing matches. Kristian Clarke makes his debut,” Mitchell Santner said.
India skipper Suryakumar Yadav would have bowled first as well.
“We are happy to bat first. We were also looking to bowl first. We have seen dew over here, but happy to bat first. We have been doing a lot of things right, and the atmosphere in the dressing room is fine. The guys are looking forward to the match,” Suryakumar Yadav said.
