India U19 captain Ayush Mhatre has won the toss and elected to bowl first against the USA U19 in the first match of the ICC Men’s World Cup 2026.
Toss Decision – Captain’s Comments & Reasoning
“We will bowl first as we are not used to these conditions. The conditions are overcast as well. Preparations have been good, and we have been playing together for the past six months,” India captain Ayush Mhatre said.
USA skipper Utkarsh Srivastava would have bowled first as well.
“We would have bowled first. We have three spinners and three pacers. We toured South Africa and the West Indies, and we came here early. We wanted to win the cup,” he said.
