Australia captain Pat Cummins has won the toss and elected to bat first against England in the third Ashes Test at the Adelaide Oval. Steve Smith has been ruled out of the game due to illness.

Toss Decision – Captain’s Comments & Reasoning

“We will bat first. The pitch looks good, and the sun is shining. It is a good wicket, and it is going to be a regular Test match. Steve Smith has been unwell for the last couple of days and didn’t practice. Usman Khawaja is back and will bat at No.4. Preparations have been awesome, and it feels great to be back. We will have to make it count,” Pat Cummins said.

England skipper Ben Stokes would have batted first as well had he won the toss.

“We would have batted first as well. We want to perform well and try making it work with the ball in this game. We have to play according to conditions, and the wicket is good over here,” Ben Stokes said.
