BCCI might soon initiate talks with the team management to address the growing tensions.

Former India cricketer Harbhajan Singh has sparked a fresh debate by questioning the ongoing speculations on Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma‘s futures. With ongoing discussions about their relationships with head coach Gautam Gambhir and chief selector Ajit Agarkar, Harbhajan’s remarks have added a new layer to an already tense situation.

In an interview with PTI, Harbhajan voiced his concerns about the atmosphere surrounding India’s senior players, suggesting that decisions about their careers seem to be influenced by individuals who, in his opinion, have not accomplished enough in their own professional journeys. His remarks come amidst ongoing rumours of a communication breakdown between Kohli, Rohit, and Gambhir, with reports indicating that the BCCI might soon initiate talks with the team management to address the growing tensions.

“It’s hard to digest. I may not be able to provide an answer because, having been a player myself, I have witnessed similar situations. Many of my teammates have also gone through this, and it’s unfortunate. We never talk about it or address it,” Harbhajan told PTI

“Unfortunately, decisions about their future are being made by people who haven’t achieved much themselves,” he added.

” They’ve consistently delivered and have been standout players for India. I’m happy for them as they’re not just performing well but also setting a benchmark for the younger generation, showing what it takes to be a champion,” he mentioned.

Harbhajan commented amid ongoing speculation about a strained relationship between Kohli, Rohit, and Gambhir. Reports point to a widening communication gap and a decline in their rapport, an unforeseen development, especially considering Gambhir’s inclination toward clear, direct leadership and his emphasis on maintaining discipline.
