Former India captain Rohit Sharma has reclaimed the No.1 position in the ICC ODI Rankings for Batters, just a few days before the three-match ODI Series against South Africa in Ranchi on November 30.

Rohit went past New Zealand player Daryl Mitchell, who slipped in the tally after missing the last two ODIs against the West Indies. The absence cost Mitchell, allowing Team India’s opener to overtake him and establish himself as the best ODI batter while heading into the big clash at the JSCA Stadium.

New Zealand all-rounder Rachin Ravindra made a jump of one place to reach the 12th spot, while Devon Conway achieved the 31st position among the batters in the fifty-over format. West Indies skipper Shai Hope climbed to 8th after scoring a hundred in the second ODI against the Black Caps.

Zimbabwe star Sikandar Raza became the No.1 all-rounder in T20Is for the first time. His contributions with the bat and ball in the tri-series, also involving Pakistan and Sri Lanka, saw him surpass Saim Ayub, showing his consistency that has kept him among the top 10 in all formats of the game since 2022.

In Test cricket, Australia and Bangladesh players recorded significant gains after their wins in Perth and Mirpur. Travis Head jumped to sixth place after his hundred in the fourth innings, while Mitchell Starc climbed to fifth after taking 10 wickets. Bangladesh’s Mominul Haque, Litton Das, and Mushfiqur Rahim move up in the rankings after their team’s 217-run win over Ireland.

Meanwhile, Rohit was recently announced as the official ambassador for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 to be played in India and Sri Lanka. The 37-year-old announced his retirement from T20Is after leading India to their second World Cup trophy in 2024. He has amassed over 1000 runs in nine T20 World Cups.
