Overview:
Reddy was preparing with the Indian National Cricket Team to face the defending World Test Champions.
Team India all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy has been released from the Test squad ahead of the series opener against South Africa, starting on November 14 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. The youngster will now represent the India A squad for the three-match ODI series against South Africa A.
Reddy was preparing with the Indian National Cricket Team to face the defending World Test Champions. However, team management released him because he wouldn’t have been a part of the Playing XI in the first contest.
The 22-year-old is expected to play for India A in the List matches, and the move is aimed at giving him more game time. India’s assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate also confirmed that Dhruv Jurel will take Nitish’s place.
He has been impacted by injuries in recent times. He was ruled out of three T20Is against Australia after getting injured in the ODI assignment.
He was once rated highly in the Test circuit, but the youngster will have to focus on his fitness and form with India A. Ravindra Jadeja, Washington Sundar, and Axar Patel are the three all-rounders in the Test team.
