Temba Bavuma
South Africa skipper Temba Bavuma opined on Shukri Conrad's remarks that he wanted to grovel to the Indian team. Anil Kumble and Dale Steyn didn't like the word grovel.

Overview:

Bavuma mentioned that his players have a big chance of creating history in India.

South Africa captain Temba Bavuma is confident of beating India in the upcoming two-match Test series in the sub-continent. He feels the Proteas spin attack is capable of leading the team to success. South Africa haven’t won a Test series in India since 1999-2000, and they have included Keshav Maharaj, Senthuran Muthuswamy and Simon Harmer in the squad.

The trio took 33 wickets during the two-Test series against Pakistan. Bavuma said that spinners will keep them in a better spot, with Tristan Stubbs also capable of bowling if needed.

“Bowling has always been our strength. We have good spin resources, and Tristan Stubbs is a capable off-spinner. He can deliver something different,” Bavuma said.

“You need bowlers who can take 20 wickets. We are confident and if the pitches will be spin-friendly, we have bowlers who can deliver,” he added.

Bavuma mentioned that his players have a big chance of creating history in India. “We haven’t won a Test series in India for a long time. I think there is a chance, and we have a big target on our backs.”

Despite the retirements of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and R Ashwin, Bavuma knows that India have young players who can perform.

“It is not easy to play in India, and they have the talent. The new guys are filling the boots. Those guys you mentioned were top performers,” he concluded.

The India vs South Africa Test series will start on November 14.
