Jos Buttler and Gerald Coetzee will join the Gujarat Titans for the remaining matches of the Indian Premier League 2025. The league is restarting on May 17, and the final is scheduled for June 3. According to ESPNcricinfo, Buttler and Coetzee were the only overseas players of GT who left India after the tournament was suspended last Thursday due to tension between India and Pakistan.
Rashid Khan, Sherfane Rutherford, Kagiso Rabada and Karim Janat remained with the team.
Rutherford is a part of the West Indies ODI squad that will take on England in three matches from May 29 to June 3. Buttler is in the same situation as he was selected by England for the upcoming games.
Gujarat are leading the standings with 16 points from 11 matches, and they still have three contests left.
KKR
Sunil Narine, Andre Russell, Rovman Powell and team mentor Dwayne Bravo are in Dubai and will join the team on Wednesday. Rahmanullah Gurbaz is in Kabul, but he will return to India. Anrich Nortje, who left for the Maldives, is expected to join KKR in Bengaluru.
SRH
Pat Cummins and Travis Head have agreed to play the remaining matches despite the franchise’s elimination from the playoff race. However, there is no confirmation of whether Heinrich Klaasen, Eshan Malinga, Kamindu Mendis, and Wiaan Mulder will join SRH.
PBKS
Xavier Bartlett, Azmatullah Omarzai, and Mitchell Owen have agreed to compete. Marcus Stoinis, Marco Jansen, Josh Inglis, and Aaron Hardie haven’t revealed their plans.
According to ESPNcricinfo, the PBKS coaching staff members, head coach Ricky Ponting and assistant coaches Brad Haddin and James Hopes, remained in India.
Six stadiums have been selected for the 13 league matches, featuring Delhi, Jaipur, Lucknow, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, and Bengaluru. However, the venues for the four playoffs, including the final, haven’t been announced.
