Ishan Kishan is playing the most important IPL season of his career, considering his removal from the Indian team for more than a year and the selectors’ continued silence on his comeback. He started with a bang for Sunrisers Hyderabad, scoring an unbeaten 106 runs off 47 balls, laced with 11 fours and 6 sixes at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium. The bowlers of Rajasthan Royals were unable to stop him, and he toyed with their bowling attack after being sent out to bat at the No. 3 slot.
His blistering hundred and magnificent fifty by Travis Head took the SRH to 286/6, the second-highest team total in the history of the tournament. Former India player Navjot Singh Sidhu is miffed with the BCCI and the selectors for extending Ishan’s punishment despite his talent and performance.
“Ishan Kishan should have been forgiven. He was banned. I am saying since last year that he picks the ball early and can hit shots to any part of the ground,” Navjot Singh Sidhu said on Star Sports.
Virender Sehwag also lauded the young batter for his batting. “We have been talking about Heinrich Klaasen and Travis Head, but what about Ishan Kishan? His batting is pleasing, and you feel good watching him bat, like Virat Kohli,” he said.
