Karun Nair emerged as a promising talent in Indian cricket with a stellar domestic career. He made his first-class debut for Karnataka in the 2013-14 season, playing a pivotal role in their Ranji Trophy triumph by scoring three consecutive centuries. His remarkable performance continued in the 2014-15 season, where he scored a triple century (328 runs) in the Ranji Trophy final, becoming the first batsman to achieve this feat in a Ranji final since 1946-47. Nair made his Test debut for India against England in November 2016. In only his third Test, he scored an unbeaten 303 runs, becoming the second Indian batsman after Virender Sehwag to score a triple century in Test cricket. This innings placed him among the few cricketers worldwide to convert their maiden Test century into a triple century.
