India all-rounder Axar Patel and his wife Meha have been blessed with a baby boy. Taking to social media, Axar revealed that they welcomed their first child on December 19, 2024. Their newborn was wearing an India jersey, and the couple posted a message revealing the name of their child – Haksh Patel.
“He is figuring out the offside from the leg, but we couldn’t wait to introduce him to all of our fans. Welcome Haksh Patel, India’s smallest but biggest fan, and is the most special piece of our hearts. 19- 12- 2024,” Axar and his wife posted on Instagram.
India captain Rohit Sharma revealed that Axar was not considered for the five-Test series against Australia because he was on paternity leave.
“Tanush Kotian was selected because he played against Australia A and Kuldeep Yadav is not fit and faced visa issues. Axar Patel just welcomed a baby. Kotian was the best option, considering his form,” he said.
Axar married Meha in January 2023. He was retained by Delhi Capitals for IPL 2025 and is one of the options for captaincy.
