Punjab Kings wanted to retain Ravi Bishnoi but according to Ness Wadia, the co-owner of the franchise, one of the star players turned the young spinner against the team. He didn’t name anyone but his hint was towards KL Rahul, who joined Lucknow Super Giants in 2022. Bishnoi followed him and the two parted ways with the Punjab-based franchise.

And now Rahul has played a big role in making sure that LSG head coach Justin Langer doesn’t replace Rahul Dravid as the head of the coaching staff of the Indian team.

Langer had showed interest but he was reluctant, considering the duration of the job. However, he is hundred percent sure of not applying for the job after speaking to Lucknow captain KL Rahul.

According to the former Australia player, the right-handed batter told him about the pressure and politics in Team India and the veteran has decided to keep himself away from the role at the moment.

“I was talking to KL Rahul and he said, ‘You know, if you think there is pressure and politics in an IPL team, multiply that by thousand, that’s coaching India.’ That was a good bit of advice, I guess. It would be an awesome job, but not for me at the moment,” he said on BBC stumped.

Meanwhile, Langer is not new to politics and players’ tantrums. He was the head coach of the Australian team but his tough coaching measures led to his removal. Pat Cummins and several other senior players were not interested in working with him after the end of his tenure and Cricket Australia offered him a new contract for a few months, forcing Justin to quit.
