Prasidh Krishna shot to fame when Bangladesh A visited India in 2015. Having been coached by Australian legend Glenn McGrath at the MRF Pace Academy in Chennai and Jeff Thomson at the Cricket Australia’s Centre of Excellence, the youngster has shown tremendous growth in his short career so far.

Prasidh Krishna first came into the limelight during Bangladesh A’s tour of India in 2015 when he claimed a five-wicket haul on his First-Class debut. He took a wicket off his first ball, dismissing Rony Talukdar before picking the scalps of Anamul Haque, Soumya Sarkar and Nasir Hossain in his first spell for Karnataka.

Later in 2017, Krishna also made his List A debut for Karnataka in the 2016–17 Vijay Hazare Trophy.

He impressed everyone with his bowling exploits in the 2017-18 season of Vijay Hazare Trophy where he scalped 17 wickets in 8 games. The Karnataka-born pacer finished the tournament as the second-highest wicket-taker.

Continuing his good form, Krishna once again showcased his class in the 2018–19 Vijay Hazare Trophy, where he emerged as the leading wicket-taker for Karnataka with 13 scalps in seven matches.

The pacer made his T20 debut during the 2017–18 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

In August 2018, Krishna was named in India A cricket team for the 2018 A-team Quadrangular Series.

Prasidh Krishna’s continuous efforts and impressive bowling performances in the domestic circuit finally caught the attention of national selectors as he received his maiden India call-up for the three-match ODI series against England in March 2021.

He was rewarded with his maiden international cap in the first ODI against Eoin Morgan-led side and was an instant hit in his debut game. The paceman picked up four wickets in that match while conceding 54 runs at an economy rate of 6.61.

In May 2021, he was named as one of the four standby players in India’s Test squad for the final of the inaugural World Test Championship (WTC) and a five-match Test series against England.

Krishna was bought by the Kolkata Knight Riders in 2018 as an injury-replacement for Kamlesh Nagarkoti. He went on to make his IPL debut when another KKR player, Shivam Mavi, got injured and the former skipper Dinesh Karthik gave him a chance to show his talent in the world-renowned T20 competition.

Notably, the young pacer made the most of the given opportunity as he scalped 10 wickets in 7 matches in IPL 2018 with the best bowling figures of 4/30.

However, Krishna did not have an impressive season in 2019, picking up just 4 wickets in 11 games.

Overall, Prasidh Krishna has played 31 matches in his IPL career so far and accumulated 26 wickets at an economy rate of 9.29.
