Avesh Khan is a right-arm fast bowler who has bowled exceptionally well in the domestic circuit. The young bowler is best known for his pace and accuracy. He has all the traits to become a lethal pacer for the Indian team in near future.


Avesh Khan made his first-class debut for Madhya Pradesh against Railways on December 7, 2014, in Delhi where he took 2 wickets in the first innings.  He made his List A debut in the 2017–18 Vijay Hazare Trophy on 5 February 2018 against Mumbai.

Avesh performed exceptionally well in the 2018–19 Ranji Trophy season. He finished the tournament as a leading wicket-taker for his state team, Madhya Pradesh, with 35 wickets from 7 games.


Avesh Khan was a part of the 2014 U-19 World Cup team in UAE. But he was not given enough chances to prove his calibre.

The young speedster broke into the scene during 2016 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup as he impressed everyone with his impactful performance for India. Avesh was the highest wicket-taker for the Boys in Blue in the showpiece event as he scalped 12 wickets in six games.


Avesh was roped in by the Royal Challengers Bangalore for Rs 10 lakh in the player auction for Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2017. He played only one game for the Virat Kohli-led side in that season and scalped one wicket while conceding 23 runs.

In the 2018 IPL auction, the young pacer was bought by the Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) for Rs 75 lakh. He was then retained by the Delhi-based franchise for the IPL 2020.

Avesh Khan was one of the best performers for the Rishabh Pant-led side in the 14th edition of IPL before the tournament was postponed due to the rising cases of COVID-19.

He played 8 matches in the IPL 2021 and scalped 14 wickets at an economy rate of 7.70.
