Yuvraj Singh was inconsistent early on in his career. But, he had a spark of his own. A talent that no one could take eyes off. But, still many talented players vanish due to lack of opportunities. Yuvraj was lucky to have a skipper like Sourav Ganguly, who backed him to the hilt and gave him innumerous opportunities to prove his mettle at the highest level.

Ganguly’s captaincy CV might not be as illustrious as that of Dravid or Dhoni but the players who went up to become big names after starting out under his captaincy still thank him for having a big influence on their careers.

Sourav Ganguly yesterday posted an emotional tweet to bid adieu to Yuvraj Singh. He wrote, “@YUVSTRONG12 dear Yuv .. every good thing comes to an end .. I tell u this was a marvellous thing..u were like my brother very dear.. and now after u finish even dearer.. the entire country will be proud of u . Love u lots..fantastic career..@bcci”

Yuvraj Singh also responded with lot of warmth and the emotions of Yuvraj towards Ganguly could be felt in his words. He tweeted, “Thanks Dadi for giving me an opportunity to play for India and live my dream ? you will always be special to me.”

Both Yuvraj and Ganguly have made a special place in the hearts of the Indian cricket fans and the love and camaraderie that they share among themselves is heart-warming.
