Ahead of the Vitality Blast T20 League, the Yorkshire County Cricket Club has suffered a massive blow as one of its players has tested for COVID-19 while the other three have been quarantined.

The Yorkshire County Cricket Club released a statement and confirmed that Matthew Fisher, Tom Kohler-Cadmore, Josh Poysden, and David Willey have been advised to self-isolate for 14 days.

The four players were in contact with each other, away from the rest of the squad, and away from a COVID secure bubble.

Clearing the air in this matter, pacer David Willey took to Twitter and revealed that he along with his wife have tested positive of the novel coronavirus. Since the other three players were in close contact with Willey and his wife, they will also serve a compulsory 14-day quarantine period.

“Thank you for all the kind messages. My wife & I received positive COVID test results. Gutted to be missing the remaining games. Even more devastated that having been in contact with the other 3 lads Sat morning (before we had symptoms) means they’re at risk & unavailable too,” Davi Willey tweeted.
