Afghan all-rounder Rashid Khan will marry only when once he wins the World Cup for his national team. At this juncture, it looks highly improbable.
“Not till I win a World Cup for the team. I am not getting engaged or marrying before that,” Saj Sadiq, a Pakistani cricket journalist tweeted quoting Rashid Khan on Sunday. The statement was reportedly made during an interview of Rashid with ‘Azadi Radio’.

Rashid, who has picked up 248 international wickets in four Tests, 70 ODIs and 48 T20Is combined, had earlier said that he picked up leg-spin watching quick spinners like India’s Anil Kumble and Pakistan’s Shahid Afridi.
“As a child I used to watch Anil Kumble and Shahid Afridi a lot. I followed them and liked bowling quickly. If you see, even my run-up is a quick one, because I idolized them,” Rashid had said.
Rishabh Pant is the toughest batsman to bowl to – Rashid Khan
The Afghan all-rounder, who represents Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League (IPL) believes that Indian batsman Rishabh Pant is the toughest to bowl to.
“It was a match during our U-19 days. Pant had hit three sixes in a row to one bowler of our team. He mistimed the fourth ball, but it was dropped. The bowler couldn’t just do anything but yell in Pashto, ‘now what do I do get him out?’,” recalled Rashid, who has picked up 55 wickets in 46 IPL matches.
