Lasith Malinga is one of the best fast bowlers of limited-overs cricket. His slinging action has made life difficult for rivals over the years. Having retired from one-day internationals in July 2019, he was on song during the T20I series against New Zealand. The veteran went on to take 4 wickets in 4 consecutive balls during one of the T20 internationals. He has inspired a lot of young guns and one of them has achieved success in copying his action and style.
The 17-year old Sri Lankan pacer took 6 wickets for just 7 runs in a college game. Playing for Trinity College, Matheesha Pathirana bowled deadly Yorkers like Lasith Malinga.
It is evident that Pathirana has slinging arm like Malinga. If the Young Turk can continue with his magical performance, Sri Lanka would certainly welcome another Lasith Malinga to its international fold.
Trinity College Kandy produces another Slinga !!
