The stalwarts of the Indian cricket team, Shikhar Dhawan, Ishant Sharma and Hardik Pandya are currently undergoing rehab at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru. While Dhawan and Pandya were not named in the Test squad for two-match series against New Zealand, Sharma still remains subject to fitness clearance. The 31-year-old experienced pacer suffered an ankle injury last month while playing for Delhi against Vidarbha in a Ranji Trophy match. He will undergo a fitness test on February 15 to confirm his participation in the upcoming series.
Despite being away from the cricket field, all three injured players were seen enjoying their time in NCA. Dhawan recently took to his official Instagram handle and shared a video with fans in which the trio can be seen grooving to a Bollywood song ‘Yahan ke hum Sikandar’ during their training session at the gym.
Dhawan captioned the video, “Who said rehab is boring? Yahaan ke hum sikander! @hardikpandya93 @ishant.sharma29”
After facing a clean sweep in the three-match ODI series against Kiwis, India are now gearing up to play the Test matches on New Zealand soil. Notably, the first Test is scheduled to take place at the Basin Reserve cricket ground in Wellington from February 21.
