Men in Blue wore black armbands as a mark of respect to the CRPF security personnel, who lost their lives in the terror attack in Pulwama on February 14.

The players also observed two minutes of silence to pay homage to the jawans before the start of the game. However, there were fans, who continued to make noise, prompting Virat Kohli to signal to them to keep quiet for some time.

“Our sincere condolences to the families of the soldiers who lost their lives. The Indian team is really shocked and sad about what happened,” Kohli said on the eve of the game.

There has been growing demands that India should boycott World Cup match against Pakistan following dastardly terror attack on the CRPF convoy.

The governing body of Indian cricket has stated that it will go by government decision in this matter.
