From being an architect 5 years ago to being named in the Indian T20I squad for the upcoming India’s tour of Australia, Varun Chakravarthy’s journey to the top is highly commendable so far.

On Thursday, the mystery spinner added another feather to his cap as he became the first bowler to castle MS Dhoni, twice, in the same IPL campaign. After the match, a video went viral on social media where Chakravarthy can be seen taking tips from MS Dhoni.

Kolkata Knight Riders’ (KKR) hopes of qualifying for the IPL 2020 playoffs dealt a massive blow as they lost out to wooden spooners, Chennai Super Kings, by 6 wickets on Thursday at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

Batting first, KKR had a decent start and were successful in posting a decent total of 172 on the back of Nitish Rana’s sensational knock of 87 runs off 61 balls. In reply, CSK sealed the game with a nail-biting run chase, which was led by young batsman Ruturaj Gaikwad.

Gaikwad smacked 72 off 53 deliveries including 6 fours and 2 sixes to dictate the tempo of the run chase before Ravindra Jadeja’s rapid cameo of 31 off 11 helped the Kings in winning the game.

Though KKR lost the game, it was a surreal outing for Varun as he is a big fan of the former Indian captain and used to watch him hit those massive sixes from the stands at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

“From admiring him from the stands at Chepauk, to now… @chakaravarthy29’s fairytale continues!” KKR captioned a video on Twitter.
