Pacer Thangarasu Natarajan has made a meteoric rise, which has seen him cement a spot for himself in India's limited-overs squad, with his bowling. He has unarguably been the find of India's series Down Under so far. Natarajan's inclusion to the Indian Team has been a breath of fresh air as he's one of the leading wicket-takers in the T20I series.
While there's no doubting that Natarajan has impressed everyone with his pin-point yorkers, former Indian batsman Virender Sehwag has even backed the left-arm pacer to nail a spot in India's pace trio, alongside Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar, at next year's T20I World Cup on home soil.
“India will have a very strong bowling lineup for the T20 World Cup if T Natarajan plays with Bumrah and Bhuvi. The T20 format is such that a bowler who gives less runs today, can get hit tomorrow,” said Sehwag during an interaction with Sony Sports Network.
“But his execution is very good, whether it is the yorker, slower one, or length ball. Bumrah also has the same quality. He will realize after this tour, how big a change it has brought to his career. People will be wanting to learn from him and trying to become like him,” he added.
Sehwag also revealed how having a conversation with Natarajan after veteran batsman Murali Vijay had recommended him to sign the pacer for Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2017.
“He had told me that his dream was also to play for India but he didn’t feel that he will be able to play in the IPL or for India,” Sehwag quipped.
