Former Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar wants Pakistan to win in England. He is hoping to see a better performance from the visitors and not settle for a draw this time.

In his own unique style, Akhtar said he hopes all the players test negative for the coronavirus but play with a positive mind and challenge the hosts when the two teams meet in a three-match Test series. The squad of 20 players and 11 support staff tested negative for Covid-19 upon their arrival in England. Azhar Ali will lead Pakistan against England.

“I want to see players playing with positive intent. Pakistan need to play good cricket to beat England,” Akhtar said on his YouTube channel.

“I pray that they don’t play to draw the series as we could have won many games in the past but were let down by our batsmen. I hope the team is able to read the situation better and come up with a solid performance,” he added.
