Former India player, Sachin Tendulkar is widely regarded as one of the greatest batsmen in the history of cricket. When the Master Blaster was at the peak of his career, he faced many world-class bowlers including Shoaib Akhtar, Wasim Akram, Glenn McGrath, and Lasith Malinga. He went on to play several match-innings for his side and carved out a niche himself. But if given an option to face someone from the current generation, who would the ‘God of Cricket’ pick?

Replying to a fan’s query during the Q&A session on his YouTube channel, Tendulkar revealed he would have loved to face Afghanistan’s ace spinner, Rashid Khan. The young bowler has a variety of deliveries in his arsenal.

“If I have to face one bowler from this generation, it would be Rashid. Almost everyone has talked so much about his bowling and I’ve also enjoyed watching him play. So it will be interesting to face him because of the way he disguises – the googly, leg-spin, and top spin – he has quite a few variations,” the 47-year-old said in his latest YouTube video.

Furthermore, Tendulkar also explained how difficult it was to bat during the Day-Night matches in his playing days.

“When the sun is going down during Day-Night ODI matches, the discolouration made that particular phase rather challenging to pick the shiny side and the rough side because the ball would reverse. It made batters’ lives challenging. The ball would also sometimes get soft.”
