India opener and vice-captain, Rohit Sharma created yet another record in One-day Internationals. In Delhi, the Indian batsman was on 18 when he became the fastest cricketer ever to reach 6000 runs in ODI cricket as an opener. He overcame South AFrican veteran batsman, Hashim Amla to reach the landmark.

The right-hander, Amla had scored 6k ODI runs as opener in 123 innings, whereas Rohit did it in just 121 innings. Rohit Sharma’s career completely changed in ODIs when he started opening for India. He was made India’s opener in 2013 Champions Trophy and he hasn’t looked back from then onwards.

Rohit Sharma is going to be critical to India’s chances in the ICC showpiece event in England and Wales
