Indian cricket team coach Ravi Shastri has brushed aside all the rumors regarding MS Dhoni’s immediate retirement.
Actually, since Mahi took the ball from umpires after the third and final ODI against England, fans had started speculating that he is about to call it a day.
It is worth mentioning that he took the stumps from umpires before announcing retirement from Test cricket in 2014. However, Shastri dismissed all sort of talks surrounding Dhoni’s retirement.
“MS wanted to show the ball to Bharat Arun. He wanted to show him the wear and tear the ball had endured, to get a general idea of what the conditions were like,” Shastri clarified to Times of India.
“That’s rubbish. MS is not going anywhere,” he confirmed. He was critical of those who booed MS Dhoni at the iconic Lord’s.
“If criticism has to come Dhoni’s way, he might as well endure it. But it wouldn’t make him any less important, given what he brings to the squad,” Shastri concluded.
