R Ashwin was not treated properly by team management in the last few Test series. He was kept out of the playing XI in the last Test series against the Windies. However, this didn’t break his confidence and he scripted another record on the fourth day of the first Test between India and South Africa.
Ashwin dismissed Theunis de Bruyn to achieve another historic feat in his career. He completed 350 scalps in his Test career and became the joint-fastest along with Sri Lankan legend Muttiah Muralitharan.
Ashwin also became the fastest India to take 350 wickets in Whites. He took seven wickets in the first innings.
